BCYF’s Summer of Possibility: $2 Million for Baltimore Youth Programs

Baltimore youth organizations still have time to apply to BCYF’s Summer of Possibility Fund for 2027. The Baltimore Children and Youth Fund is offering a total of $2 million, with individual grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000. Applications are due October 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

The funding supports summer programs for young people ages 0–24. BCYF’s eligibility requirements include being based in Baltimore City, having nonprofit status or a fiscal sponsor, an annual operating budget of $750,000 or less, and at least one year of organizational and youth-program experience. At least 51 percent of employees must be Baltimore City residents.

Free application help remains available after this weekend. BCYF lists virtual office hours on September 15, 24 and 30, plus a second in-person Launchpad workshop on September 26. One-on-one and asynchronous support run through September 29. The fund’s resource hub carries registration links and updates for those sessions.

BCYF lists December 15 for award notifications. The grant period runs April 1 through September 30, 2027, while summer programming is scheduled for June 14 through August 31. Those dates give applicants a planning window that extends beyond the weeks when children and young adults will attend programs.

For organizations preparing a proposal, a useful first step is to gather the program calendar, budget and a clear description of whom the program serves.
