Baltimore listeners can put a live date on the calendar for Zo! and Tall Black Guy. The collaborators are scheduled to appear with Debórah Bond at Keystone Korner Baltimore on Thursday, October 29, at 7 p.m., according to the venue’s ticket listing.

The appearance offers a local entry point into Expansions, the duo’s 14-track album released February 10. For this Producer Spotlight, the connection between the record and the stage is especially useful: Bond is also part of the album, appearing on “Slow Stories” and “Make Or Break.”

Behind the collaboration

Zo!, born Lorenzo Ferguson, is a multi-instrumentalist whose work spans keyboards, bass, drums and guitar. His official biography also identifies him as a writer, arranger and producer, giving context to the range of responsibilities that can sit behind a finished recording.

Tall Black Guy is producer Terrel Wallace. Expansions follows the pair’s 2021 collaboration Abstractions, continuing an established partnership rather than introducing a one-off pairing. The album’s published credits name both artists as producers and mixers, with mastering by Chris Boerner.

Those credits also place recording work at The East Wing in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Planet Bounce in Detroit. That Maryland connection is another reason for area listeners to explore the album ahead of the Baltimore appearance.

What to know before heading out

Keystone Korner is at 1350 Lancaster Street. The listing shows ticket prices of $35 to $45 before fees, with food and beverages separate. Check the venue’s live ticket page for current availability and the complete purchase terms before making plans.

The scheduled lineup is Zo!, Tall Black Guy and Debórah Bond; a complete set list has not been announced in the source reviewed for this story. The album credits offer listening context, but they should not be treated as a promise that particular songs will be performed.

For a pre-show introduction, Expansions is available on the artists’ official album page. Start with the credited collaborations, then follow the producers across the record. Thursday’s Baltimore stop gives that listening session a nearby destination.
