Steelers Beat Browns 27–6 as Warren and Defense Take Over

Pittsburgh moved into sole possession of first place in the AFC North with a 27–6 victory over Cleveland at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, November 1st. The Steelers improved to 6–2 and dropped the Browns to 5–3, evening the teams’ season series.
Jaylen Warren rushed for 143 yards on 17 carries, while Pittsburgh’s defense produced eight sacks and two takeaways, according to the Steelers’ official game report. The win was Pittsburgh’s fourth straight and its 23rd consecutive regular-season home victory over Cleveland.
Warren supplies the finishing push
Pittsburgh led 10–0 after the first quarter and 20–6 at halftime. Rico Dowdle contributed a nine-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter. Tight end Pat Freiermuth scored on a one-yard sneak with one second remaining before the break, giving the Steelers a two-touchdown cushion.
Early in the third quarter, Cameron Heyward stopped Quinshon Judkins for a one-yard loss on third-and-one. Pittsburgh then stretched its lead after Aaron Rodgers connected with Darnell Washington for a 58-yard catch-and-run to the goal line. Warren finished the possession with a one-yard touchdown.
Washington ended with three receptions for a career-high 94 yards. Rodgers completed 13 of 25 passes for 172 yards before Mason Rudolph took over. Dowdle added 56 rushing yards as Pittsburgh accumulated 361 total yards.
Pressure defines the division win
T.J. Watt recorded two sacks, bringing his career total against Cleveland to 20.5, the most by any player against the Browns. Patrick Queen contributed 12 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defended.
Cleveland managed only 34 rushing yards and had minus-one total yard in the first quarter. Pittsburgh’s ability to control the ground game and pressure the quarterback kept the Browns from closing the gap after halftime. The Steelers enter their bye week with a division lead and a 4–0 home record under coach Mike McCarthy.
