Ravens’ First Prince George’s County Practice Expands the Team’s Maryland Reach

The Baltimore Ravens are using training camp to strengthen their presence beyond the Baltimore metropolitan area.

The team held its first public practice in Prince George’s County on Saturday at the University of Maryland’s SECU Stadium. Ravens officials described the event as part of a wider effort to connect with supporters in Prince George’s County and surrounding communities following changes to NFL team marketing territories.

The practice drew fans to College Park for a full training-camp session, entertainment and community programming. It represented the Ravens’ first major fan-engagement event of this kind in Prince George’s County.

On the field, rookie kicker Tyler Loop drew attention during Saturday’s practice, while undrafted defensive back Keyon Martin continued making an impression during the early portion of camp.

The larger significance is regional. Baltimore remains the franchise’s home, but the Ravens are attempting to build a stronger connection across Maryland, particularly in areas that have traditionally contained a mix of Ravens and Washington football fans.

That strategy can influence youth programs, sponsorships, ticket sales and long-term fan loyalty. A public practice gives families access to the team without requiring a regular-season ticket or a trip into downtown Baltimore.
