Luka Dončić Powers Lakers Past Heat, 138–117, With 42 Points and 13 Assists

The NBA’s Tuesday roundup placed the result in a historic context. Dončić has now produced five consecutive games with at least 35 points, five rebounds, five assists and five made three-pointers. That matches Damian Lillard’s January 2020 run for the longest such streak in league history.
His latest performance also moved him ahead of James Harden in another demanding statistical category. Monday was Dončić’s 19th career game with at least 40 points, 10 assists and five three-pointers; Harden had held the mark with 18.
Miami received 30 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists from Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to the league’s recap. The Heat nevertheless finished 21 points behind a Lakers team that continued to turn its lead creator’s production into a broad offensive advantage.
A separate report carried by NBA.com supplied the team context behind the individual numbers. Austin Reaves scored 27 points, and Los Angeles recorded 39 assists, its highest total since JJ Redick became head coach in 2024. The victory moved the Lakers to 6–2.
The back-to-back wins also demonstrated how Dončić’s scoring can work alongside his passing. He had scored 45 points and collected 15 rebounds against Toronto on Sunday. Across the two games, Los Angeles made 37 of 80 attempts from three-point range and scored a combined 269 points.
