Joe Fagnano Named Ravens Starter as Baltimore Adds Kedon Slovis

Joe Fagnano will make his first NFL start Thursday against Jacksonville. Ravens coach Jesse Minter announced the decision Tuesday, November 3, giving Baltimore a starting-quarterback answer after injuries disrupted its offense in Buffalo.
Fagnano is dealing with an ankle injury of his own. According to the Ravens’ Tuesday practice report, his right ankle was heavily taped, but he participated fully. He was hurt on a low hit by Ed Oliver on Sunday and remained in the game.
The announcement advances the short-week picture beyond Monday’s addition of Austin Reed to the practice squad. Baltimore is 4–4 and trying to end a three-game losing streak when the Jaguars visit M&T Bank Stadium. Fagnano now has the starting assignment, while the club continues to rebuild the depth behind him.
The Ravens also announced that they signed Kedon Slovis from Green Bay’s practice squad to their 53-man roster. The 25-year-old joins a room missing Lamar Jackson, who is headed to injured reserve with a thumb injury, and Tyler Huntley, who is sidelined by a toe injury.
Slovis brings limited regular-season experience: he appeared in two games for Arizona last season and attempted two passes. His preseason work was more substantial. He completed 30 of 51 attempts for 328 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions across three games for the Cardinals before joining the Packers’ practice squad.
There are familiar coaching connections to help with the transition. Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork worked with Slovis in Arizona, and wide receivers coach Keary Colbert coached at USC during Slovis’ time there. Those relationships offer a starting point as he learns Baltimore’s offense on a compressed schedule.
Another Thursday personnel decision is settled: Minter said practice-squad kicker Jake Moody will handle kicking duties after Tyler Loop went on injured reserve. Follow PowerPage Sports for the next confirmed updates before Jacksonville arrives.
