Andre Mills gave Maryland a productive opening night, finishing with 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 96–67 victory over Bucknell on Monday, November 2. The Terrapins paired his double-double with a decisive rebounding advantage to begin their season at home.

Maryland’s official recap recorded a 54–22 edge on the glass, including 28 offensive rebounds. That control created repeated opportunities around the basket and helped the Terps score 54 points in the paint. A 21–5 run over the final seven minutes of the first half turned a competitive opening stretch into a 44–30 halftime lead.

The supporting production was broad. Kaden House scored 14 points in his college debut, Pharrel Payne added 13 points and six rebounds, and Tomislav Buljan and DJ Wagner contributed 10 points apiece. Maryland forced 18 turnovers while committing 13 of its own.

Bucknell’s recap underscored how much the visitors depended on perimeter shooting to stay connected. Aleksander Pachucki scored a career-high 23 points and made seven of his 11 three-point attempts. That shooting gave the Bison a scoring outlet, but it could not offset Maryland’s work near the rim and on the boards.

Rocco Lamuno added 12 points for Bucknell, while Luca Soroa Schaller finished with seven points and four assists. The Bison left College Park with an opening loss, with the rebounding gap providing a clear measure of where the game separated.

For Maryland, the night also honored the 25th anniversary of its 2002 national championship through throwback uniforms. The result supplied a strong beginning, but the next matchup will quickly change the setting and the demands on this group.

Maryland’s schedule lists Georgetown next on Saturday, November 7, at Capital One Arena in Washington. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Eastern, with Peacock and NBCSN carrying the game. Follow PowerPage Sports for more Maryland coverage as the season develops.
