Orioles Promote Wehiwa Aloy and Several Rising Prospects

Young Baltimore baseball prospect advancing through the minor-league system.

The Baltimore Orioles are moving several developing players up the organizational ladder, including highly ranked infielder Wehiwa Aloy.

Aloy, Baltimore’s No. 4 prospect, was promoted to Double-A Chesapeake after producing a .300 batting average, a .371 on-base percentage and a .503 slugging percentage at High-A Frederick. He recorded 15 home runs, 69 RBIs, 14 doubles and four triples across 84 games.

The 22-year-old was selected with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft after playing at the University of Arkansas.

Baltimore also promoted left-handed pitcher Caden Hunter, infielder Victor Figueroa and right-hander Joe Glassey to Chesapeake. The transactions provide another indication that the Orioles’ player-development system remains central to the organization’s long-term plans.

The promotions offer a constructive storyline following Tuesday night’s difficult 14–0 loss in Detroit. Dean Kremer allowed a career-high eight earned runs, but the Orioles have expressed confidence in the right-hander as they continue an important road series.
