Minshew Rallies Cardinals to 33–30 Overtime Win in Dallas

Gardner Minshew came off the bench and helped the Arizona Cardinals turn a late opportunity into a 33–30 overtime victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, November 1st. Chad Ryland supplied the winning points with a 42-yard field goal after Arizona’s defense forced a three-and-out.
The Cardinals’ official account says Minshew replaced a struggling Jacoby Brissett early in the second half. Minshew finished with three touchdown passes and no interceptions, giving Arizona a different offensive direction during a game that came down to the closing seconds of regulation.
Six seconds, then another chance
Minshew found Michael Wilson for a 13-yard touchdown with six seconds remaining, drawing Arizona level. Ryland then missed the extra point to the left, leaving the teams tied and sending the game to overtime. The touchdown created a chance to win immediately, but the missed kick meant more football.
Ryland’s opportunity for redemption followed a defensive stop. Josh Sweat sacked the Dallas quarterback on third down as part of the Cowboys’ three-and-out. Arizona then moved into position for the 42-yard kick that settled the contest.
Allgeier keeps the offense moving
Tyler Allgeier was another central figure after running backs Jeremiyah Love and Bam Knight left with injuries. Allgeier gained 147 yards on 11 carries, including a 63-yard touchdown run and a separate 52-yard gain. He also caught a touchdown pass.
Those long runs gave Arizona production beyond its quarterback change. With the backfield reduced by injuries, Allgeier’s rushing and receiving contributions helped keep the comeback possible until Minshew and Wilson connected at the end of regulation.
The Cardinals and Cowboys both finished the afternoon at 3–5. Arizona’s win was secured by a sequence involving all three phases: a late passing touchdown, an overtime defensive stop and the deciding field goal. The quarterback change helped revive the offense, but the defense and kicking game were still needed to finish the job. Follow PowerPage Sports for more coverage of Sunday’s results.
