PowerPage Nightcap closes Wednesday, October 7th, with a question that connects music history, contemporary R&B and technology: who gets to shape the story? Money B is putting his experiences on the page. Jae Stephens is explaining the boundaries behind her creative work. Microsoft is introducing hardware aimed at people who want more computing power close at hand.

Money B’s forthcoming memoir, A D.U. Party Don’t Stop: The Money B Story, offers a participant’s view of Digital Underground and the world that formed him. His official store lists the paperback for October 13th, with signed preorders shipping within ten business days after release. Our Money B report connects that book with his recent television conversation and separates the release date from any promised delivery date.

Jae Stephens brings the same question of authorship into the studio. In a press conference reported by Phrasemaker on October 3rd, she described protecting her pace, requirements and boundaries while making Audacity. Her comments also explain how the playful Auda City concept invites fans into the project through tracklist clues and voting. Our Jae Stephens feature follows that relationship between creative control and audience participation.

The technology story concerns tools rather than the work itself. Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Ultra starting at $2,599, with availability beginning October 16th, and the RTX Spark Dev Box starting at $5,999, with availability planned for November. Our Microsoft guide gathers the announced specifications and includes the company’s event video. Those prices and dates are launch information, not a substitute for independent testing.

For readers who make music, write or build visual projects, the connection is practical. A more powerful device can change how a task runs, but it cannot decide which memories deserve a chapter or which artistic compromises are acceptable. The stories above place those decisions with people, even when the machinery around them becomes more ambitious.

Return to Money B’s firsthand account, Jae Stephens’s explanation of her process, or the hardware announcement through the linked reports. Tonight’s Nightcap leaves the last word with the creators: tools can support a voice, but the perspective still has to come from somewhere.
