The Maryland vs. UCLA kickoff is set: the Terrapins will host the Bruins at 1:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, September 26, with the game televised nationally on Big Ten Network. Maryland announced the time and television assignment Monday, filling in a key planning detail for its conference opener.

The game will take place at SECU Stadium during Family Weekend. For fans traveling to College Park, the afternoon start now provides a firm anchor for the day. It also gives viewers a specific television destination, rather than leaving the matchup on their calendars with the kickoff still undetermined.

Maryland said the visit will be UCLA’s first trip to College Park since 1955. That history supplies a different backdrop from the usual conference matchup, while the immediate significance is straightforward: September 26 begins the Terrapins’ Big Ten schedule. The teams met at UCLA in 2025; this season brings the matchup to Maryland’s home field.

Both programs were 2–0 when the announcement was released. Maryland was coming off a 38–14 victory at UConn, while UCLA had beaten San Diego State 28–10. Those are the records entering this week, not a guarantee that either team will arrive unbeaten for their meeting. UCLA is scheduled to host Purdue on September 19 before traveling east.

Maryland also has another home date first. The Terrapins’ football schedule lists Virginia Tech at SECU Stadium on September 19, with a 7:30 p.m. start. Fans arranging consecutive weekends should keep the two kickoff times separate: the Virginia Tech game is at night, while the newly announced UCLA game is in the afternoon.

The practical details for September 26 are now clear: UCLA at Maryland, SECU Stadium, 1:30 p.m. EDT, Big Ten Network. Supporters attending Family Weekend can use Maryland’s official athletics announcement and schedule for current game information as the conference opener approaches.
