“Dexter: Resurrection” Sets an October 30 Return With New Cast and a Midlife Crisis

“Dexter: Resurrection” has a return date, and it lands the day before Halloween. Paramount+ announced September 8 that Season 2 will premiere Friday, October 30, with Michael C. Hall back as Dexter Morgan and a new teaser introducing the next chapter of the SHOWTIME series.

The access detail matters for viewers planning their watchlist: Paramount says the new season will be available with its Premium Plan. Its announcement distinguishes that requirement from the original “Dexter” series and “Dexter: New Blood,” which it lists as available across all Paramount+ plans. “Dexter: Original Sin” also requires Premium.

The network’s premise puts Dexter between two killers while he confronts a midlife crisis. One adversary has a long history behind him; the other brings a new threat to New York. Jack Alcott’s Harrison continues his own pursuit of justice, keeping the father-and-son relationship central to the season’s setup.

Bokeem Woodbine, Brian Cox, Dan Stevens, and Nona Parker Johnson join as series regulars. Returning performers include Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, and James Remar. Krysten Ritter returns in a guest role, and Gabriel Luna joins as a guest star.

Clyde Phillips remains showrunner and an executive producer, with Hall also executive producing. The announcement frames the return around the franchise’s twentieth anniversary. The new teaser is a first look, not a full account of the season. The premise points toward pressure from both outside threats and Dexter’s own changing sense of himself, but the announcement does not settle how those conflicts unfold.
