Brian Tyree Henry and LeSean Thomas Bring “Bass X Machina” to Netflix November 3rd

Bass X Machina arrives on Netflix on Tuesday, November 3rd, bringing a steampunk Western from creator LeSean Thomas and executive producer Brian Tyree Henry to the streaming service’s animation lineup.
Netflix’s official production announcement identifies Studio Mir as the animation studio. Henry and Thomas are joined as executive producers by Jennifer Wiley-Moxley and Chad Handley. The series was part of the company’s Annecy festival presentation earlier this year.
A family story inside a dangerous frontier
The Netflix Media Center describes a father trying to protect his family in a lawless Western setting occupied by outlaws, machines and supernatural threats. His pursuit of justice creates a central dilemma: the violence he uses in their defense could cost him the people he wants to save.
That premise gives viewers a clearer guide than the Western label alone. This is a fantastical animated world with mechanical and supernatural elements, rather than a conventional frontier drama. The family conflict anchors the action described in Netflix’s synopsis.
The creative team behind the premiere
Netflix presented the project as part of a broader slate of internationally produced animation drawing on anime’s visual and storytelling traditions. Thomas’s role as creator and Henry’s executive-producer credit place the series among the Black-led creative projects entering the service’s fall schedule.
The November 3rd date is a release notice, not a review of completed episodes. Viewers can use the official Netflix title page to find the series and its available promotional videos. This preview makes no claim about episode quality or audience reception ahead of the premiere.
