AlphaTheta is connecting DJ preparation with music production through its new Studio Plan. Announced October 13th, the subscription includes Bitwig Studio Essentials and links the production software with rekordbox, giving DJs a route from an organized music library to making edits and arrangements.

According to the launch announcement, the integration brings library information such as BPM, key, Hot Cues, and vocal-position data into the production workflow. The practical appeal is continuity: preparation already completed in rekordbox can help guide work in Bitwig instead of becoming a separate reference task.

The included Essentials edition provides 40 instruments and effects, plus 10 modulators. AlphaTheta lists a 30-day trial and a US annual price of $72. Studio Plan is a separate subscription from rekordbox’s Free, Core, Creative, Professional, and Cloud options, so existing customers should check what they already have before adding another plan.

One important feature is still ahead. Stem separation is described as a future update, with Bitwig pointing to winter. Buyers should assess the tools available now rather than treating that promised capability as part of today’s working feature set.

Bitwig’s own announcement explains that the integration arrives with version 6.1.4 and is available across Studio, Producer, and Essentials for users with an active upgrade plan. It requires rekordbox 6.x or later on the same computer. Eligible existing Bitwig users therefore have a path to the connection without buying the new bundled subscription.

For DJs, those details change the purchasing question. Someone starting with production may value the software bundle, while an established Bitwig user may primarily need to update and connect an existing setup. The trial offers a way to test that workflow with a familiar library before deciding whether it fits.

This is a workflow announcement, not a PowerPage hands-on review. It also does not grant permission to release remixes of someone else’s recordings. As with the studio tools discussed in our Young Guru coverage, the useful test is whether the software supports a creator’s actual work, rather than simply adding another subscription.
