Vic Mensa is extending his independent creative work into media with ORANJ, a multidisciplinary company built to develop original projects across film, music, digital programming, podcasts and brand collaborations. The launch places Mensa behind the platform as well as in front of the camera, giving his ideas a home beyond a traditional album cycle.
The company’s first flagship release is The Vic Mensa Show, a video-first weekly series scheduled to premiere Wednesday, August 26. The program will examine the intersection of politics and culture, following the same broad territory Mensa has explored through music, essays, acting and public advocacy.
Chance the Rapper is booked for the opening episode. Announced guests for the first season also include Rapsody, Durand Bernarr, Lena Waithe, Aja Monet and Van Lathan Jr., bringing together voices from music, film, poetry, journalism and activism rather than limiting the conversation to artist promotion.
The first season is planned for 24 episodes, with new installments arriving on Wednesdays through YouTube, Spotify Video, Apple Video and podcast platforms. Mass Appeal is a partner on the series, while Mensa, S. Reginald Williams, Edgar Esteves and Pickup Media are listed among the executive producers.
The format grows from Mensa’s Orange Tree Series, which received a 2026 Webby People’s Voice honor. ORANJ is also expected to house that vertical series, Mensa’s short film Halfrican, his Substack and additional projects, turning one successful conversational format into a broader catalog of owned intellectual property.
For Mensa, the real opportunity is consistency. A recognizable premiere guest can attract attention, but a 24-week run will show whether ORANJ can build a lasting audience around thoughtful discussion and support more original work without losing the independence and cultural specificity that shaped the project.
The launch details were verified through REVOLT, Billboard and BroadwayWorld.
