Ty Dolla $ign’s latest global crossover now has a full visual.
K-pop group aespa released the music video for “Switchblade” at 1 p.m. KST on August 4. The electronic dance track features Ty Dolla $ign and appears on aespa’s second album, Lemonade. The record itself arrived with the album in late May, but the new video gives the collaboration a second release moment as summer festival clips and international fan conversation continue to move around the song.
The pairing works because Ty Dolla $ign has spent years moving comfortably across genre lines. His voice can function as a lead, a hook or a texture, and “Switchblade” uses that flexibility inside aespa’s electronic production rather than asking either side to abandon its identity.
That matters for Hip-Hop and R&B artists looking beyond a strictly domestic rollout. K-pop collaborations can connect an American artist to organized global fandoms, multilingual media coverage and video-first release strategies. For aespa, Ty Dolla $ign brings a familiar melodic-rap presence to a B-side now being promoted as a standalone visual.
The song’s central idea compares changing with the moment to the movement of a switchblade—an image built around adaptability and strength. The video extends that concept with a performance-centered treatment designed for replay and social sharing.
