Lamar Jackson Misses Practice as Ja’Kobi Lane Returns for Ravens

Baltimore’s quarterback question remains open, but its receiving corps took a concrete step forward Wednesday, October 14th. Lamar Jackson did not practice, while the Ravens announced that rookie Ja’Kobi Lane had been activated from injured reserve and returned as a full participant ahead of Sunday’s game at Cleveland.
Jackson’s availability remains unsettled
The Ravens’ Wednesday injury update describes Jackson as day-to-day. The team also relayed ESPN reporter Adam Schefter’s report that Jackson has a realistic chance to play; that is not a confirmed starting assignment. Tyler Huntley would be in line for another start if Jackson cannot return.
Jackson has not practiced since the ankle injury he suffered against Tennessee on October 4th. Elsewhere, Trey Hendrickson returned as a full participant after missing two games with a finger injury. New center Cam Jurgens participated while still progressing through concussion protocol, leaving medical clearance as a separate decision.
Lane moves beyond the possibility of a return
The team’s Lane announcement marks a change from Tuesday’s receiver update, when a return was still only possible. Lane had missed four games after injuring his wrist in the season opener at Indianapolis. Wednesday’s activation and full practice are confirmed developments, although neither alone guarantees a Sunday appearance.
Coach Jesse Minter praised the conditioning work Lane maintained during his absence. That matters because returning to the roster and sustaining football activity are different tests. Baltimore now has practice evidence to assess as it decides how the rookie fits into the next game plan.
What comes next
The next practice reports and final game designations will sharpen the picture. For now, the important distinction is between a completed roster move, a practice participation level, and a decision about who will play. Our Ravens–Falcons recap covers the overtime victory that preceded this week’s preparations; Wednesday’s news is about the personnel available for the next assignment.
