Trey Hendrickson’s potential return offers Baltimore a pass-rush boost, but Thursday’s practice report also brought fresh concerns. On October 15th, the Ravens reported additional absences and limitations as preparations continued for Cleveland, with Lamar Jackson’s ankle still keeping him off the practice field.

Hendrickson’s return could help the entire front

In the team’s Thursday press conferences, Hendrickson said his finger was significantly less painful following surgery. He explained that he had played through the injury before getting it repaired, while the staff continued working out the protection he would wear. He credited the strength staff with keeping him ready during his absence.

Defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver described the benefit beyond Hendrickson’s individual production. Extra blocking attention on the veteran can create opportunities for Mike Green, Nnamdi Madubuike, Calais Campbell and Tavius Robinson. Weaver also stressed coordinated pressure against Deshaun Watson, whose movement can punish a rush that loses its spacing.

New names and changed participation

The official injury update lists Rashod Bateman, John Simpson and Broderick Washington as Thursday nonparticipants after limited work Wednesday. Matt Hibner also did not practice. Zay Flowers and Green were newly listed as limited with toe and hamstring issues, respectively. Those participation changes warrant attention without establishing anyone’s final game status.

Jackson remained out, and Cam Jurgens continued limited work while progressing through concussion protocol. Baltimore therefore still has questions at quarterback and center as the week moves toward its final practice report.

Preparation continues while decisions remain open

Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle said Jackson must stay fully involved mentally even when he cannot practice. Doyle also explained that Jurgens is learning new terminology and communication responsibilities while managing his recovery. Both situations require preparation before a lineup decision can be made.

Our Wednesday Ravens update covers Ja’Kobi Lane’s activation. Thursday’s developments shift attention toward Hendrickson’s readiness and the wider injury list; final designations will determine which of those options Baltimore can actually use.
