Morgan State Adds ESPN Deportes Spotlight Ahead of South Carolina State Showdown
Updated: 29 minutes ago

Morgan State’s October 29th meeting with South Carolina State is gaining another national television window. The MEAC announced Thursday, October 15th, that ESPN Deportes will carry a Spanish-language simulcast alongside the previously announced English-language broadcast on ESPNU. Kickoff remains 7 p.m. ET.
A wider audience for the Bears
The conference’s broadcast announcement arrives with Morgan State at 5–1 and ranked No. 24 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25. The MEAC identifies Monday’s ranking as the program’s first appearance in that poll. A four-game winning streak has given the Bears momentum as the schedule moves toward conference competition.
South Carolina State is 5–2 after opening with five consecutive victories and then losing twice. The defending MEAC and Celebration Bowl champion gives the October 29th game an established conference contender on the other sideline. Those records describe the teams at the time of Thursday’s announcement; neither should be treated as its guaranteed record on game night.
Nashville comes first
Before that television date, Morgan State visits Tennessee State on Saturday, October 17th. Tennessee State’s official game guide lists a 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, with coverage on ESPN+. The Tigers enter at 1–5 and will be celebrating Homecoming.
The matchup renews a series that has been dormant since 1987. Tennessee State has won the previous four meetings, and the schools are beginning a two-game arrangement with a return trip to Baltimore scheduled for 2027. That history adds context, but the current teams will decide Saturday’s result.
Two dates, two viewing plans
For Bears supporters, the useful distinction is straightforward: Saturday’s Nashville game is on ESPN+, while the October 29th South Carolina State game is scheduled for ESPNU and ESPN Deportes. Check access through your provider before each kickoff.
