Elmiene Earns Soul Train’s New Soul Honor and a Performance Spotlight

Elmiene will receive the New Soul Honor and perform at the 2026 Soul Train Awards, BET announced October 29th. The recognition gives the British-Sudanese singer a prominent television platform as his career moves from early discovery into a wider international audience.
The ceremony is scheduled to air Friday, November 27th, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET and CBS. BET describes the honor as recognition for an emerging artist helping shape R&B’s future. The announcement names Elmiene as a performer but does not disclose his song selection.
Recognition built on a developing live career
The honor follows a path that includes opening appearances for Stevie Wonder and SZA and an NPR Tiny Desk concert, according to BET. The network connects the recognition to a breakout period that also included his debut album, sounds for someone, earlier this year.
His rise was already drawing industry attention before that album. The BRIT Awards named Elmiene to its 2025 Rising Star shortlist alongside Good Neighbours and Myles Smith. Its artist profile traced his emergence through the El-Mean and Marking My Time EPs and collaborations with artists including Sampha, Syd and Stormzy.
That earlier BRITs assessment also highlighted live appearances at Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park, as well as headline performances across North America, Europe and the United Kingdom. The Soul Train announcement adds a new American television milestone to an existing performance career.
What comes after the broadcast
Elmiene’s official tour page lists European and British dates beginning November 29th in Amsterdam, followed by Berlin, Paris and Brussels. December stops include Bristol and Manchester before a December 8th London appearance at Hammersmith Apollo. Those dates place further headline performances immediately after the scheduled awards broadcast.
For viewers, November 27th is the next confirmed television appointment. For concertgoers, the artist’s tour page supplies the individual venue and ticket links. The award announcement and the tour calendar offer two different ways to follow this stage of his career: a televised recognition of his progress and more opportunities to hear him onstage.
