Apple TV's “Brothers” Trailer Turns Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson's Bond Into a Family Mystery

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are turning one of Hollywood's most durable friendships into a scripted comedy with a sharp personal hook. The Brothers Apple TV trailer introduces the stars as heightened versions of themselves, then upends their easy chemistry with the possibility that their bond may be biological as well as emotional.
The eight-episode series begins after the wedding of Woody's daughter falls apart. That crisis sends both families to Matthew's Texas ranch, where old stories, competing personalities and a long-running question about the men's fathers begin creating new problems. Holland Taylor plays Ma Mac, adding another forceful personality to a household already overloaded with history.
The trailer leans into the contrast between the two leads. Harrelson brings loose, impulsive energy, while McConaughey tries to protect an orderly home and a political future as governor. Their familiarity gives the comedy a lived-in rhythm, but the fictional frame leaves room to push recognizable details into increasingly chaotic territory.
Lee Eisenberg serves as showrunner, with the production coming from Skydance Television and Paramount Television Studios. Apple TV will premiere the first two episodes on September 23, followed by one episode each Wednesday through November 4. That weekly rollout should give the central family question room to develop without revealing the entire story at once.
“Brothers” is a scripted comedy, not a reality series, even though it plays with the stars' public personas. It joins a growing Apple TV lineup that includes the recently returned science-fiction drama “Dark Matter.” The new trailer suggests a warmer, messier watch built around friendship, family lore and the particular fun of watching two longtime collaborators argue like relatives before science has made anything official.
