The Brewers 22-0 win over the Seattle Mariners on August 18, 2026, matched Milwaukee’s franchise record for runs and produced the largest victory margin in club history. Milwaukee collected 22 hits and scored 21 times across its final four batting innings at American Family Field, turning a one-run game into one of the most lopsided results in modern baseball.

Christian Yelich started the surge with a three-run homer during a five-run fifth inning. David Hamilton and Jake Bauers added multi-run home runs in another five-run frame in the sixth. The Brewers then sent 14 batters to the plate during a nine-run eighth, capped by Luis Lara’s two-run shot for the first home run of his major league career.

The final margin carried historical weight beyond Milwaukee. MLB.com reported that it was the most lopsided major league shutout since the Philadelphia Quakers beat the Indianapolis Hoosiers 24-0 on June 28, 1887. It was also the largest shutout by a home team since the New York Giants defeated the Buffalo Bisons 24-0 on May 27, 1885.

The power display was particularly striking because Milwaukee entered the game last in the majors with 117 home runs. Four homers in one night did not change that season-long ranking immediately, but the mix of extra-base damage, relentless plate appearances, and late scoring showed how quickly the lineup could overwhelm an opponent.

MLB.com’s official game recap documents the franchise and major league milestones from the rout. PowerPage readers can also revisit Alex Bregman’s three-homer performance for another recent MLB power display. One August result will not define a season, but Milwaukee’s record-setting night created a score line that will remain in the club’s record book.
