Xbox Mythic Achievements Recognize Completed Games in New Insider Preview

Xbox Mythic Achievements are entering an early-access preview for Xbox Insiders. Announced September 29th, the feature recognizes players who finish a game’s original achievement list and makes that accomplishment easier to see on their profiles.
According to Xbox’s announcement, achievements added through later downloadable content or updates do not count toward the requirement. Once a player earns Mythic status, it stays earned. Eligible games completed in the past can receive the recognition too, including Xbox 360 titles.
The preview adds a Gaming tab to profiles, with achievement history, completed games, and Gamerscore milestone progress. A distinctive frame identifies Mythic accomplishments. Players can also look at friends’ Gaming tabs to see their progress.
A progress bar helps show what remains on the path to Mythic status. The achievement list can focus on outstanding original achievements, while later additions are marked separately. These are preview features for Insiders; the announcement should not be treated as confirmation that every Xbox account already has them.
That distinction matters when deciding whether to check for the feature today. A preview lets participating players try changes while development continues. Players outside the program can follow the official release notes for wider availability, rather than assuming a missing badge means their completion record has disappeared.
The design also addresses a familiar question for completion-focused players: where does the original finish line end when a game keeps growing? Separating the initial list from later additions gives that question a clear answer. It leaves room to enjoy future content without making the earlier accomplishment feel unfinished again.
For anyone revisiting an older library, a useful first step is simply to choose a game whose original achievements you remember completing, then compare its record with the new view if the preview is available to you. There is no need to turn the feature into another backlog obligation; it can also serve as a record of time already enjoyed.
