TDE University Tour Turns Morgan State’s Block Party Into a Talent Pipeline

TDE University Tour’s official Morgan State event artwork lists the August 25 Baltimore campus stop.

The TDE University Tour is using its Morgan State stop to make a campus concert feel like the beginning of something larger. The tour reached the university’s USC Patio on Tuesday, August 25, pairing a welcome-back block party with student showcases, live performances and an opportunity that extends beyond one afternoon in Baltimore.

Morgan State’s official event page identifies Ray Vaughn, Kenny Iko and Kembe X among the TDE artists connected to the stop. Students are invited to perform, compete and connect with an experience built around discovering developing talent. The strongest incentive is a chance to perform at the 2027 BET Awards as a BET Amplified Artist, giving the block party a real industry-development track instead of treating students only as an audience.

The Baltimore visit is part of a broader HBCU route presented by Toyota and BET and powered by The Orchard. The schedule has already moved through Grambling State, Jackson State, Alabama State, Southern University, Howard and the Atlanta University Center, with Tennessee State and North Carolina A&T still ahead. TDE founder Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith has framed the program around mentorship, scholarships and opportunities for the next generation.

That framing fits Morgan State’s role in the city. A major music company bringing artists, resources and a visible pathway to an HBCU campus lands differently from a standard promotional pop-up. It places discovery, performance and professional access in the same space, while letting students see how creative ambition can connect to management, distribution, production and live presentation.

PowerPage’s Morgan State football game-week guide tracks the Bears as they prepare for Saturday’s opener at North Carolina A&T. This Power Beat follows a different part of campus life, but the underlying story is similar: Morgan is entering a high-visibility week with Baltimore watching. The TDE University Tour gives students a chance to turn that attention into a stage of their own.
