“Scary Movie” Sets a September 3 Paramount+ Streaming Date

The Scary Movie ensemble reunites for the franchise’s sixth theatrical installment.

The new Scary Movie is heading home after its theatrical run. Paramount+ will begin streaming the sixth installment exclusively on Thursday, September 3, giving longtime fans another chance to see the Wayans family’s return to the horror-spoof franchise.

Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans reprise Shorty and Ray, while Anna Faris and Regina Hall return as Cindy and Brenda. Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri and Chris Elliott are also back. The expanded cast includes Kenan Thompson, Kim Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr. and several performers from the newer generation of film and television comedy.

The Scary Movie streaming date extends a theatrical comeback that Paramount says earned more than $230 million worldwide. That result matters because the franchise had been away from theaters for more than a decade.
