Sampa the Great Connects Hip-Hop and Zambian Heritage on Nu Zamrock

Sampa the Great’s Nu Zamrock is out October 30, bringing a new chapter of the Zambian artist’s music to streaming services. Apple Music lists the release as a 16-track, 37-minute album, while her official campaign page directs listeners to the full project across major platforms.
The title points toward a musical history that is central to the release. In its album notes, Apple Music describes Zamrock as a Zambian sound that brought together rock, psychedelia, funk and traditional music in the 1970s. The platform frames Sampa’s new work around that heritage and its continuing possibilities.
Apple’s notes also identify a family connection: the opening includes a conversation with her uncle George Kunda about co-founding WITCH. That gives listeners a specific starting point for the album’s historical thread, rather than treating Zamrock as only a title or a visual reference.
Loma Vista Recordings’ artist biography places Sampa’s work at the intersection of hip-hop, poetry and soul. Nu Zamrock’s release credits name Sampa The Great Pty Ltd under an exclusive license to Loma Vista Recordings, part of Concord.
The official campaign’s sequence opens with “Intro” and “Prayer In A Dance” before moving through “Can’t Quit Music” and “Simon Says.” Other listed titles include “Canary,” “Supernova,” “Star” and “Gone,” with “Nicole’s Interlude” followed by the closing “I Can Love.” Those titles provide a route into the complete project for listeners arriving through an individual single.
The official “Simon Says” visualizer offers one such entry point. It is available on Sampa the Great’s Official Artist Channel, whose description links directly to the album campaign. Watch it above, then use the official album link to choose a listening service and hear the wider sequence.
