Ravens Await Answers After Nate Wiggins Leaves Practice

The Baltimore Ravens are awaiting medical clarity after cornerback Nate Wiggins injured his left leg during Tuesday’s training-camp practice. Wiggins went down while working against rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane in a one-on-one drill and was taken from the field on a cart.

Reports from practice said Wiggins appeared unable to put weight on the leg as he entered the team facility. Head coach Jesse Minter did not provide a diagnosis or recovery timetable afterward, saying testing was underway while expressing optimism that the injury may not be severe.

If Wiggins misses practice time, Baltimore can redistribute repetitions among Marlon Humphrey, Chidobe Awuzie, T.J. Tampa and the rest of the cornerback room. That depth can keep camp moving, although Minter acknowledged that Wiggins’ particular combination of length, speed and coverage ability is difficult to duplicate.
