Monday’s Ravens injury update left Baltimore waiting for a clearer answer on Lamar Jackson. Head coach Jesse Minter said on October 19th that the quarterback is making progress from his ankle injury but remains day-to-day. A return to practice has not been confirmed.

Baltimore moves into Bengals week at 4–2 after Sunday’s 13–10 loss to Cleveland. Cincinnati is 3–2. Jackson has missed the Ravens’ last two games, making the next practice update a key checkpoint before anyone can reasonably call him ready for the divisional matchup.

Wednesday will bring the next checkpoint

In the Ravens’ Monday news report, Minter indicated that the team expects to know more by Wednesday. Center Cam Jurgens also made progress over the weekend as he works through the concussion protocol. His potential availability remains conditional; the update was not a declaration that he had been cleared.

Jurgens’ return would have implications beyond one position. Vega Ioane has started the last three games at center and could move back to right guard. For now, that remains a possible alignment rather than an announced starting lineup.

What Baltimore can address now

The Monday press-conference transcript also put attention on the offense’s operation against Cleveland. Minter discussed the difficulties posed by the Browns’ aggressive run defense and the need to improve execution around the play clock. Those issues matter regardless of which quarterback takes the next snap.

It is a useful distinction for Bengals week: Jackson’s health is the biggest personnel question, while cleaner communication and more efficient possessions are work Baltimore can begin immediately. A medical update alone will not resolve the problems that made Sunday’s game so tight.
