Ravens Injury Update: Zay Flowers Day-to-Day, Ja’Kobi Lane Faces Longer Wait

Monday’s Ravens injury update brought a more encouraging early outlook for Zay Flowers than for fellow receiver Ja’Kobi Lane. Head coach Jesse Minter described Flowers as day-to-day after his hamstring injury, while saying Lane’s wrist issue could require a longer recovery and additional evaluation.

The distinction matters as Baltimore prepares for its September 20 home opener against New Orleans. Minter’s comments, published in the Ravens’ Monday news and notes, were an initial assessment rather than a promise that either player will be available. Flowers’ condition will be monitored through the week, and the team is seeking further opinions on Lane.

Flowers had already dealt with a hamstring problem during training camp. That history adds context to Minter’s emphasis on managing the injury carefully instead of allowing it to linger. Baltimore has not announced a return date for Lane, and Monday’s update did not settle the receiver group for Week 2.

The workload numbers show why both situations deserve attention. In the team’s Week 1 snap-count review, Flowers recorded five catches for 150 yards and a touchdown despite playing only 20 offensive snaps. Lane logged 27 snaps. Rashod Bateman played 53, while Chris Moore and LaJohntay Wester played 25 and 20, respectively. Those figures describe Sunday’s usage; they do not establish the lineup against the Saints.

There are other availability questions behind the starters. Devontez Walker missed the opener with a groin injury, and Elijah Sarratt was inactive. Their presence on the roster should not be confused with a confirmed solution if Baltimore needs additional receiving help this weekend.
