The first Ravens injury report of opening week puts four players on the limited-participation list, including receiver Zay Flowers and defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike. All 53 players on Baltimore’s active roster practiced Wednesday, September 9, as the team prepared for its September 13 opener at Indianapolis.

Baltimore’s Wednesday report lists Flowers with a hamstring injury and Madubuike with a neck injury. Inside linebacker Teddye Buchanan, listed with a knee injury, and receiver Devontez Walker, listed with a groin injury, also participated on a limited basis. The designations describe practice participation; they are not final decisions about Sunday’s availability.

Flowers has been working back from the hamstring issue that emerged during August joint practices with Minnesota. Madubuike and Buchanan are returning from injuries that ended their previous seasons. Walker returned to the field Wednesday after he was not seen at Tuesday’s practice. His readiness for the opener remained unsettled in the team’s update.

The Colts’ practice notebook provides the other side of the matchup. Indianapolis also had every player on its 53-man roster participating Wednesday. Four Colts were limited: safety AJ Haulcy with an ankle injury, tight end Drew Ogletree with a neck injury, receiver Alec Pierce with a heel injury, and center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger with an illness.

Pierce said his recovery was improving following offseason surgery that kept him on the physically unable to perform list until late August. Indianapolis has Thursday and Friday practices remaining before the game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Those sessions will provide further information about participation before either team has to settle its game-day lineup.

For Baltimore readers following PowerPage’s earlier Lamar Jackson update, this is a separate checkpoint: the roster’s first formal practice report. A return to the field is useful information, but it should not be mistaken for unrestricted work or guaranteed playing time. The next reports will show whether Wednesday’s limited participants progress as the opener approaches.
