Ravens' Final Preseason Test Puts Center and Roster Battles on the Clock

The Ravens roster battles reach their final live audition Friday at M&T Bank Stadium. Baltimore's preseason finale against Washington begins at 6 p.m., but the real scoreboard for several players will be the last round of evidence before the roster is reduced to 53.

Center carries the clearest unresolved competition. Jovaughn Gwyn and veteran Ethan Pocic have split first-team opportunities, and the coaching staff now gets one more game sample before settling the line in front of Lamar Jackson. Communication and clean exchanges matter as much as movement in a preseason setting where one mistake can distort an entire possession.

Quarterback Joe Fagnano has also earned a larger look. Through Baltimore's first two preseason games, he completed 37 of 48 passes for 347 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. His command of the offense has given the Ravens a legitimate developmental decision behind Jackson and Tyler Huntley.

Other evaluations stretch across defensive line, outside linebacker and cornerback. Aeneas Peebles, Adisa Isaac and Kaimon Rucker are among the players whose snaps carry extra weight, while depth options must prove they can contribute on special teams. That versatility often becomes the tiebreaker for the final few jobs.

Washington's plan sharpens that focus. The Commanders announced that 41 players will not participate, including Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, Stefon Diggs and Terry McLaurin. The matchup will therefore lean heavily toward reserves on both sides, creating extended opportunities rather than a conventional dress rehearsal.
