Ravens Agree to Cam Jurgens Trade to Rebuild the Middle of Their Offensive Line

Baltimore is making a major investment in the middle of its offensive line. The Ravens and Eagles announced a Cam Jurgens trade on Wednesday, October 7th, sending the Pro Bowl center toward Baltimore after injuries repeatedly disrupted the position. Philadelphia specified that the agreement remains pending a physical.
The terms are clear: Baltimore sends a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick to the Eagles. The Ravens receive Jurgens and Philadelphia’s 2027 seventh-round selection. That is a meaningful commitment of future draft capital, rather than a short-term practice-squad addition.
Why Baltimore acted
The Ravens’ announcement explains the immediate need. Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn, and Ethan Pocic are on injured reserve, and rookie guard Vega Ioane moved to center against Tennessee. PowerPage’s Titans recap covers the injury-heavy victory that preceded this week’s roster decisions.
Jurgens offers experience at multiple interior positions, but center is the central attraction. Philadelphia drafted him out of Nebraska in the second round in 2022. He started at right guard before succeeding Jason Kelce at center, then earned Pro Bowl selections after the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He also started at center for Philadelphia’s Super Bowl LIX championship team.
A long-term answer with an immediate caveat
Baltimore says Jurgens is under contract through 2029. General manager Eric DeCosta described him as a foundational addition who fits the team’s scheme and culture. If the move works as intended, it gives the Ravens an established center and creates a path for Ioane to return to guard.
Availability still matters. The Ravens’ report says Jurgens is in concussion protocol and attributes an expected debut against Cleveland the following week to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. That is an expectation, not medical clearance or a confirmed game-day assignment. The physical and subsequent team updates remain the next checkpoints.
For Baltimore, the significance is the decision to address a recurring roster problem with a player who can remain beyond this season. The acquisition changes the options up front; how quickly it changes the starting lineup still depends on Jurgens’ availability.
