Rakim and Nick Wiz have a central role behind the boards on The Godbody, the new collaborative album credited to Rakim, Kurupt and Masta Killa. Released September 18, the project gives listeners a current reason to follow Rakim as a producer as well as an MC.

Apple Music lists the album under its expanded title, DPG WU-TANG, WU-TANG DPG -THE GODBODY LP-, with 16 tracks and a 53-minute running time. Its release credit names Holy Toledo Productions, DMG Publishing and Compound Interest. The platform’s editorial introduction highlights the shared production role of Rakim and Nick Wiz.

The credits posted on Rakim’s official video supply an important detail: the pair produced the album except for track 10, “Nights Over Brooklyn,” which is credited to Nick Price. That exception belongs in any discussion of who shaped the project; a headline about the leading production team should not erase another contributor.

The published tracklist also shows that a joint album does not mean the same lineup appears on every track. “A Different Kind” is credited to Rakim, while “Nights Over Brooklyn” belongs to Masta Killa. “Goin’ Down” brings the three core artists together with Kokane. Those variations give the producers different vocal combinations to frame across the sequence.
