The Prince Timeless Album arrives on August 28, 2026, with 10 rare and unreleased recordings drawn from nearly four decades of work. Sony Music’s official release listing says the collection spans 1977 through 2016, giving listeners a chronological route through different stages of Prince’s studio life rather than focusing on one familiar era.
The track list begins with “I Am You” and moves through “Tick Tick Bang,” “Heaven,” “I Wonder,” and “With This Tear.” The second half includes “Stone,” “Calabama,” “The Guilty Ones,” “Bestest Friend,” and a live version of “How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore?” The sequence places early home and studio recordings beside later-period material without presenting the album as a newly completed Prince project.
Grammy-nominated engineer and producer Chris James mastered the collection. James previously worked with Prince and has credits connected to “HITnRUN Phase Two,” “Art Official Age,” and “Plectrumelectrum.” That background makes the mastering credit especially relevant because archival releases depend on preserving the character of recordings made under very different technical conditions.
Sony lists the project for digital, CD, and vinyl release, including a direct-to-consumer purple marble edition. “Stone,” a 1995 recording, and “With This Tear,” recorded in 1991, have already served as previews of the vault campaign. The release date places “Timeless” in the same August 28, 2026, window as several other major R&B and Hip-Hop projects, but its archival scope gives it a distinct purpose.
PowerPage R&B News coverage will follow verified release updates and official audio rather than circulating unconfirmed vault titles. For Prince listeners, the clearest draw is the span: 10 recordings, 1977 through 2016, assembled to show continuity and change across an unusually long creative run.
