Prime Video’s “Neagley” Gives Maria Sten Her Own “Reacher” Investigation

Prime Video’s “Neagley” moves Maria Sten from trusted “Reacher” ally to the center of her own investigation. The streaming service’s September lineup puts the new series among the month’s lead originals, with all eight episodes scheduled to arrive Wednesday, September 16.

Sten reprises Frances Neagley, the former Army investigator who has repeatedly matched Jack Reacher’s discipline without copying his methods. In the spinoff, she is working as a private investigator in Chicago when a close friend from her past dies in what appears to be a suspicious accident.

The official description says Neagley’s search for answers pulls her toward a larger threat. Her experience in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit becomes the foundation for the case, but the series now has room to show what her instincts look like when Reacher is not controlling the story.

Alan Ritchson is still connected to the new chapter as a guest star. The rest of the announced ensemble includes Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman. Prime Video says the series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios.

“Reacher” executive producer Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton serve as co-showrunners. Lee Child, whose novels created the shared world, is also among the executive producers. A first “Neagley” novel, “Zero Margin,” is scheduled for March 2027, extending the character’s solo turn beyond television.

The all-at-once release gives viewers a different rhythm from a weekly action series. It also gives Sten a clean test as a lead: the mystery, supporting cast and emotional stakes have to work through Neagley’s choices rather than through anticipation of Reacher’s arrival.
