NE-YO is leaning further into the country-inspired world of Highway 79 with the official video for “Dance Right Now.”

Set inside a rustic saloon, the visual follows the singer and his crew as they enter a room where they initially appear out of place. The guarded atmosphere gradually gives way to movement, connection and a shared dance floor. It is a simple setup that reinforces the project’s larger idea: unfamiliar musical spaces do not have to stay divided.

That is the key to NE-YO’s latest chapter. He is not walking away from R&B craftsmanship. He is placing the clean melodies, romantic instincts and polished performance style that shaped his catalog inside a different frame.

Released earlier in July, Highway 79 is NE-YO’s tenth studio album and his first country-inspired full-length project. The 11-song set includes “Dance Right Now,” “Simple Things,” “Miss Tundra,” “Thinking What I’m Thinking” and “Up Out & Gone,” which The Source reports has reached No. 1 at R&B radio.

The timing also gives the visual another layer. NE-YO is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of his debut album, In My Own Words, even as he tests new production textures and storytelling traditions. That balance—honoring the catalog without becoming trapped inside it—is what makes this experiment more interesting than a costume change.

NE-YO is currently on the 57-city Nights Like This Tour with Akon, scheduled to conclude August 21 in Los Angeles. In that context, “Dance Right Now” works as both an album visual and a live-performance invitation: walk into the room, let the rhythm settle in and see where the blend can go.
