MTA’s October 12th holiday service will vary by mode, and MARC Penn Line riders have a separate timetable change to check. The Maryland Transit Administration’s official notices give Baltimore-area travelers two things to confirm before Monday: whether their service operates and whether their usual departure time has moved.

CityLink and LocalLink buses, Metro SubwayLink and Light RailLink will run regular weekday schedules on Monday, October 12th. MARC will operate weekday service on all three lines. Most Commuter Bus routes will not run, with two exceptions: Route 201 uses its weekend/holiday “S” schedule, and Route 411T operates regular service.

The commuter-bus change starts earlier for some passengers. On Friday, October 9th, routes use the “S” schedule except 411T, which remains regular. MTA also lists Route 230 Trip 5 and Route 505 Trip 6 as operating Friday. Check the route timetable before planning an afternoon departure.

MobilityLink operates its weekday schedule Monday and honors standing rides. Riders who do not need a booked trip should call 410-764-8181 to cancel it. Several customer-service locations close for the holiday, so review MTA’s holiday notice before making an office visit.

Separately, the Penn Line’s interim weekday timetable begins October 12th and runs through November 13th because of Amtrak trackwork-related schedule changes. Train 409 leaves Penn Station five minutes later; Train 439 leaves five minutes earlier. Northbound Train 612 also operates five minutes earlier. Other listed trains have later times at some or all stops.

The Penn Line change page links the interim timetable and gives the complete train-by-train adjustments. Weekend schedules are unchanged. “Regular weekday service” in the holiday notice should therefore be read alongside the new weekday timetable, not as a promise that every old departure time stays the same.

Save the applicable schedule, check the train number and station together, and review current service alerts before traveling. Power1047’s local coverage will continue tracking changes that affect the region’s daily trips.
