Morgan State Brings a 4–1 Start Into Homecoming: Football, Festivities and What to Know

Morgan State’s Homecoming arrives with more than a reunion on the calendar. The Bears enter their October 10th meeting with Robert Morris at 4–1, giving alumni and Baltimore fans a winning team to welcome back to Hughes Stadium. Saturday’s kickoff is noon, with ESPN+ and WEAA 88.9 FM carrying the game.
Morgan’s official game preview lists Robert Morris at 3–2. The Bears are coming off a 38–35 victory at Villanova, where quarterback Cameron Edge threw for 444 yards and accounted for five touchdowns. Morgan says this is its first 4–1 start since 2009. Homecoming now offers a chance to carry that momentum into another home date.
The game is the centerpiece
Stadium gates open at 10:30 a.m., with Gates 9 and 10 serving as the main entrances. Athletics encourages advance ticket purchases because prices rise on game day. With football and reunion activities drawing people to the same campus, allowing time for traffic, parking and entry will matter.
The university’s Homecoming schedule extends through October 11th. Wednesday’s concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Hill Field House. Friday brings the Morgan Marketplace from 1–5 p.m. on the University Student Center patio and volleyball against Delaware State at 6 p.m. at Hill Field House. Saturday includes class reunions and an alumni brunch alongside football.
Plan the trip before leaving
The official parking guide says lots open at 7 a.m. Saturday and BEAR Transit shuttles operate from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Advance parking registration is available; bring the required permit. Personal RV and bus parking is not available, and Northwood Commons is not an overflow option: the university warns that unauthorized vehicles may be ticketed or towed.
Tailgating has a separate registration process. Morgan lists a $100 registration covering two spaces and prohibits tailgating in garages or at Northwood Commons. Check the designated-location instructions before packing the car rather than assuming any campus parking space can become a tailgate.
One detail needs a final check: Morgan’s main Homecoming page lists an 8:30 a.m. parade start, while the separate parade event listing says 9–11 a.m. Consult the latest university update before departure. The university also lists Saturday building closures at 3 p.m., the end of campus events at 5 p.m. and campus closure at 6 p.m. Those deadlines make planning the postgame reunion as important as arriving for kickoff.
