Mervo Hosts the Next Baltimore City Schools Listening-Tour Stop on October 8th

The Mervo listening tour stop will give Baltimore City Public Schools families, students, employees and community members an opportunity to share their experiences with CEO Dr. Jermaine Dawson on Thursday, October 8th. The district lists the session for 5–7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria at 3500 Hillen Road.
The gathering is part of Dawson’s 100-day listening tour and entry plan. In its official district announcement, City Schools invites participants to discuss their ideas, experiences and priorities. The announcement was published August 13th; the timely development for readers is the approaching Mervo session, rather than a newly announced tour.
Food will be provided, according to the district. Interpretation is available upon request when registering. Readers can use the registration link in the district’s announcement and check that page for any updates before making the trip.
Preparing to take part
For residents planning to attend, a useful starting point is one specific school experience and one clear question. Consider what worked, what created a difficulty and what response would help. Concrete examples can make a concern easier to explain than a broad description of frustration.
Parents and students may also want to write down their main points before arriving. Keep those notes focused on the issue being raised, and avoid including another student’s identifying information in remarks intended for a public audience. These are practical preparation suggestions, not district participation requirements.
The value of a listening session depends partly on the experiences people bring into the room. Questions can address everyday school life as well as broader priorities, while acknowledging that a conversation does not itself establish a policy change or guarantee a particular outcome.
This is an advance notice of the October 8th event. PowerPage is not reporting decisions or results from a session that has not yet taken place.
