Maryland Women’s Lacrosse Sixes Camp Invites Go to Edmondson and Suriano

The Maryland women’s lacrosse Sixes camp roster will include Kori Edmondson and goalkeeper JJ Suriano, giving the Terrapins two representatives in a 22-player U.S. national-team training group. The invitation puts both athletes into a faster, condensed version of the sport with growing international importance.

Testudo Times reported the selections Friday and noted that the camp is part of preparation connected to Pan-American Sixes competition. Sixes uses fewer players and a smaller field than the traditional college game, increasing the value of transition speed, quick decisions and positional versatility.

Edmondson enters the opportunity with experience in high-level international and professional settings. Her ability to score, work through the draw area and influence multiple phases gives selectors flexibility, an especially useful trait in a format where substitutions and rapid changes of possession can reshape a game in seconds.

Suriano brings a different kind of leverage. Maryland’s 2026 records credit her with 216 saves and a .517 save percentage while earning first-team Inside Lacrosse All-America recognition. In Sixes, a goalkeeper’s outlet decisions can be as important as the initial stop.

The Maryland women’s lacrosse Sixes camp invitations also reflect the program’s continued reach beyond the college season. National-team environments expose athletes to different tactical expectations while reinforcing Maryland’s reputation as a place where elite players can develop for both domestic and international competition.
