Maryland fans can put a time beside Homecoming on the calendar. The Terrapins announced Monday, October 5th, that their game against Rutgers at SECU Stadium will begin at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 17th, with national television coverage on Big Ten Network.

Monday’s Homecoming announcement gives returning alumni and local supporters a confirmed kickoff for the College Park matchup. It will be the teams’ 13th consecutive season facing one another, and Maryland has won seven of their last 11 meetings.

Ohio State comes first

The Terps have a road assignment before the Homecoming festivities. Maryland visits Ohio State on Saturday, October 10th, for a 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff, also on Big Ten Network. The Ohio State broadcast announcement identifies it as Maryland’s first trip to Columbus since 2023.

That creates two different viewing windows across the next two Saturdays: late afternoon for the Ohio State trip, followed by an earlier start at home against Rutgers. Fans arranging travel or gatherings should use the date-specific times rather than carry one kickoff into the following weekend.

A response after Nebraska

Maryland enters the week at 2–3 overall and 0–2 in the Big Ten after a 48–23 loss at Nebraska on October 3rd. The Terps trailed 28–23 at halftime but did not score after the break, while Nebraska added 20 points in the fourth quarter.

Maryland’s Nebraska recap also shows offensive production to build on. Dorian Durr set a career high with 149 receiving yards on seven catches, including a 65-yard touchdown. Malik Washington threw for 254 yards, and DeJuan Williams returned with 78 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The immediate football task is to turn those productive stretches into a more complete performance. The Homecoming announcement settles the schedule, but the road game still comes first for a Maryland team seeking its first conference win.

Official Homecoming tickets are available through Maryland Athletics. Kickoff is 12:30 p.m. ET on October 17th at SECU Stadium; the October 10th game at Ohio State starts at 4:15 p.m. ET.
