MARC Riders: Check These Camden and Brunswick Changes Before Monday
MARC riders have a weekend to prepare for timetable changes taking effect Monday, September 28th. Maryland Transit Administration advisories issued September 24th point passengers to revised Brunswick and Camden schedules, with changes that matter even if you are not using the new cross-line service.
For Camden Line riders, Train 844 will leave Washington’s Union Station at 7:15 a.m., 25 minutes earlier. Afternoon Train 855, identified on the agency’s change page by its 4:45 p.m. Dorsey departure, will no longer stop at Savage. The agency directs affected riders to Trains 853 or 857 instead.
The new connection is Train 830 from Brunswick to Baltimore’s Camden Station. The published schedule lists a 6 a.m. Brunswick departure, 7:02 a.m. at Silver Spring, 7:17 a.m. at College Park and arrival at Camden at 7:59 a.m. It bypasses Union Station. The return, Train 831, is listed to leave Camden at 5 p.m. and reach Brunswick at 7:05 p.m.
The Camden Line advisory says the changes affect morning travel from Washington toward Camden and afternoon travel from Camden toward Washington. It specifies no changes to morning Camden-to-Washington or afternoon Washington-to-Camden service. Brunswick riders should consult their revised timetable separately rather than applying that Camden-only statement to their trains.
This follow-up is about the practical schedule details now available ahead of Monday’s launch. The new through-service announcement alone does not tell an existing passenger whether a familiar departure time or station stop has changed. Check the train number, direction and station together before setting an alarm or arranging a pickup.
