Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean Global Citizen Festival Set Extends The Score Celebration

The Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean Global Citizen Festival set will bring one of hip-hop’s most enduring catalogs to New York’s Central Park on September 26. Global Citizen announced the two Fugees members as headliners Thursday, extending a year of performances marking the 30th anniversary of The Score.

The festival is scheduled during the closing stretch of the United Nations General Assembly’s annual high-level meetings. Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Lainey Wilson, Shaboozey and TOMORROW X TOGETHER are also on the lineup, giving the event a cross-generational bill built around music and public advocacy.

Hill and Jean arrive with fresh momentum from their anniversary performances in London and Rio de Janeiro. Their return to The Score has placed the 1996 album’s political writing, Caribbean influence and layered production back in a live setting three decades after “Ready or Not,” “Fu-Gee-La” and “Killing Me Softly” reshaped their careers.

The Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean Global Citizen Festival appearance also connects the Fugees’ history to the organization’s current campaign. Global Citizen says its 2026 priorities include expanding education, improving food security for smallholder farmers and supporting clean-energy access across the Indo-Pacific region.

Fans can enter a free-ticket lottery by completing advocacy actions through Global Citizen. This year, organizers are also offering automatic entry through a $25 charitable donation, with those funds designated for New York’s City Parks Foundation and organizations serving people experiencing homelessness.

That structure makes the Central Park performance more than another anniversary booking. The Score has always carried questions about migration, inequality, survival and responsibility, and the festival gives Hill and Jean a stage where those themes can meet a campaign focused on international development.
