Lamar Jackson Misses Second Practice as Ravens Prepare Huntley for Atlanta

Lamar Jackson missed a second consecutive practice on Thursday, October 8th, keeping Baltimore’s quarterback situation unresolved as the Ravens prepare to visit Atlanta. Jackson is dealing with the ankle injury sustained in the win over Tennessee, but Thursday’s absence does not establish that he will miss Sunday’s game.
The Ravens’ Thursday update said head coach Jesse Minter has left open the possibility of Jackson playing with limited practice time. Baltimore therefore has two jobs this week: evaluate its starter’s recovery and make sure Tyler Huntley is ready if called upon.
Better news elsewhere on the roster
The official practice report listed left tackle Ronnie Stanley and safety Kyle Hamilton as full participants. Andrew Vorhees returned on a limited basis, while Zay Flowers was also limited. Those distinctions matter: returning to work and completing a full practice are different stages of preparation.
Marlon Humphrey, Cam Jurgens and Trey Hendrickson joined Jackson among the nonparticipants. Thursday’s report should be read as a practice update; final game designations were not posted when this article was prepared.
Huntley’s preparation keeps the offense moving
Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle expressed confidence in Huntley on Thursday. In the team’s account of his remarks, Doyle emphasized continuing to pursue explosive plays and preparing the offense for either quarterback rather than treating a possible change as a reason to abandon its attacking approach.
Huntley also has recent evidence that he can manage a winning performance. The Ravens noted that he completed 17 of 22 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown without an interception in last season’s win over Chicago, adding 53 rushing yards. That history supplies context for the staff’s confidence; it does not settle this week’s lineup.
For Baltimore fans, the next useful information will be the remaining practice report and the team’s final availability decisions. Jackson’s ankle remains the central question, while the return of other starters gives the Ravens a clearer picture of the group preparing around him.
