Jacquees Returns to His Signature R&B Series With Mood 2

Jacquees is returning to one of the projects that helped establish his place in modern R&B.

The Atlanta singer released Mood 2 on Friday, July 31, through Cash Money Records. The 22-song album arrives ten years after his original Mood mixtape, which introduced an early version of his breakout record “B.E.D.”

Rather than moving away from the romantic records associated with his career, Jacquees leans deeper into traditional slow-jam territory. Mood 2 runs for approximately 68 minutes and combines solo performances with collaborations spanning several corners of contemporary R&B and Southern hip-hop.

Tink appears on “Physical,” while Blxst joins Jacquees for “Proud of You.” Kodak Black and NOBY are featured on “I Can Do Anything,” and Rob49 contributes to “Come & Go.”

The album also reconnects Jacquees with Cash Money’s New Orleans history. Juvenile appears on the bounce-influenced “Lick Back,” while K CAMP joins him for “Let You Go.” DC Young Fly, Tyler Watts and DeJ Loaf are among the project’s other contributors.

The original Mood arrived before Jacquees’ commercial breakthrough and became an important part of his early catalog. Revisiting the title a decade later allows him to connect that mixtape era with the more polished singer and performer he has become.

At a time when R&B projects are frequently constructed around shorter streaming runtimes, Mood 2 delivers a full-length listening experience centered on vocals, relationships and late-night atmosphere.

The complete album is available now on major streaming services, including Apple Music and Spotify
