HOT 97 Summer Jam Prepares a Cross-Generational Hip-Hop Stage

The announced performers include Rick Ross, Ice Spice, French Montana, Max B, DaBaby, G Herbo, Cash Cobain, Omah Lay, Honey Bxby, Sleepy Hallow and the 41 collective.

HOT 97 Summer Jam returns Friday with a lineup designed to connect current rap momentum with established East Coast history.

The announced performers include Rick Ross, Ice Spice, French Montana, Max B, DaBaby, G Herbo, Cash Cobain, Omah Lay, Honey Bxby, Sleepy Hallow and the 41 collective. Fetty Wap is scheduled for a welcome-home performance in his home state of New Jersey.

The lineup’s strength comes from its range.

Rick Ross provides a major catalog and recognizable festival presence. Ice Spice represents contemporary New York visibility. French Montana and Max B reconnect the stage with a specific era of New York mixtape culture. Fetty Wap’s return carries a regional and emotional significance beyond a routine booking.

The inclusion of Omah Lay also acknowledges how Afrobeats and African pop have become part of the same youth-listening environment as contemporary American rap and R&B.

Summer Jam’s challenge is sequencing.

A long lineup can feel like a collection of appearances unless the production creates a clear sense of progression. The strongest version of the show will allow new performers to benefit from the institution’s history while preventing legacy artists from dominating every cultural conversation.
