The WNBA is taking its 2027 All-Star celebration to the Bay Area. The league announced August 18, 2026, that the Golden State Valkyries will host the event for the first time, with the All-Star Game scheduled for July 31, 2027, at Chase Center in San Francisco.
The weekend will begin July 30, 2027, with the league’s Shooting Stars competition and 3-Point Contest at Chase Center. WNBA Live, the league’s interactive fan festival, is planned for Moscone Center. The July 30, 2027, competitions are scheduled to air on ESPN at 8 p.m. Eastern, while ABC will carry the July 31, 2027, All-Star Game at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
The selection gives the Golden State Valkyries another major league showcase after the expansion franchise’s rapid arrival. In their 2025 inaugural season, the Valkyries sold out all 22 home games. The league credited the organization, its fan base and the region’s basketball culture in announcing the 2027 WNBA All-Star Weekend. It will be the Bay Area’s first time hosting the event.
Chase Center places the on-court events in the same arena the Valkyries use as their home floor, while Moscone Center extends the weekend into downtown San Francisco. The arrangement combines the competitive events, fan programming and national broadcasts across two major venues. Ticket information, participating players and additional event details will be announced later, according to the league.
