GloRilla and Kirk Franklin Take “This Time” to No. 1 on Hot Gospel Songs

GloRilla has another No. 1 alongside Kirk Franklin. Their collaboration “This Time” debuts at the top of Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart dated October 10th, giving the Memphis rapper a second leader on that list and Franklin his record-extending tenth.
Billboard’s October 7th chart report says the song generated 1.7 million eligible U.S. streams, 2.5 million in radio audience and 1,000 sales during the tracking week ending October 1st. Those are separate measures of activity, not a combined listener count. Franklin becomes the chart’s first artist to reach ten leaders.
The pair previously topped the same chart with “Rain Down on Me,” which also featured Maverick City Music, Kierra Sheard and Chandler Moore. That makes this a repeat crossover achievement for GloRilla, whose work with Franklin has now produced two gospel-chart leaders.

Apple Music identifies “This Time” as a September 25th release from Franklin’s I Am What I Am. The official YouTube audio, supplied by Universal Music Group on Franklin’s artist channel, credits both performers. Listen below for the full recording rather than a short social-media excerpt.
The milestone offers a different way to follow a song after release day: through the audience it continues to reach. A chart position is a dated snapshot, so this No. 1 belongs specifically to the October 10th list. It should not be confused with a No. 1 on the all-genre Hot 100.
For Hip-Hop listeners, the collaboration offers a familiar rap voice in a different musical setting. Read Billboard’s original report for the historical comparisons, and hear the track in the player above.
