H.E.R. and Liza Soberano Lead Forgotten Island, Now in Theaters
Forgotten Island arrives in U.S. theaters Friday, September 25th, bringing H.E.R. and Liza Soberano together as the voices of two lifelong friends. The DreamWorks Animation film turns a familiar transition—finishing high school and preparing for separate paths—into a fantasy adventure shaped by Filipino folklore.
According to DreamWorks’ official synopsis, Jo, voiced by H.E.R., and Raissa, voiced by Soberano, find themselves transported to Nakali. The island is populated by creatures from the Filipino stories they heard growing up. Their way home carries a painful condition: the memories of their friendship may be the price of returning.
The supporting voice cast includes Dave Franco as Raww, a weredog, and Lea Salonga as the Dreaded Manananggal. Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy and Ronny Chieng also appear in the announced cast. Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado wrote and directed the film, with Mark Swift producing.
