Eli “Paperboy” Reed’s Getting There is out September 11 through Yep Roc, pairing the soul singer with producer Swamp Dogg for a 13-track album. The release gives R&B listeners a Friday option built around enduring relationships, grown-up responsibilities and the work of staying connected.
The album’s official Bandcamp page lists “Every Once in a While,” “Asking for a Friend” and the title track among its opening songs. Zaniah joins Reed on “Love You More,” while Swamp Dogg steps to the microphone for “One Man’s Trash (Is Another Man’s Treasure).” Those guests sit within a full album rather than a two-song showcase.
Reed’s official biography describes the project as a move toward writing about remaining in love and living with its complications.
